This is so backwards. Tech-men-wearing-hoodies is the result of men in SV having no idea what to wear to work. It's abstinence from fashion, not sexism. These hoodies aren't a status symbol, and aren't worn to signal anything except perhaps transparent apathy. More controversially, the question "why aren't there more women in tech" makes me wonder "why are there so many men in tech?" Many males in tech aren't there because of the status, but because it's a safe place to be a weirdo. And to not care about fashion. (Many, only, not all.
