I don't feel it was that weird a reference to make, and the reason I asked was that I didn't want to jump to conclusions about it's use. Three parens surrounding words like "pedophile" is something that shows up a lot on Twitter, and is meant as a dogwhistle for antisemitism - just so you know and don't get caught off guard of someone assumes that's what you mean in the future.
