Ask HN: Has there been a large-scale, per-user ES6 support test?
I know that there are compatibility tables per browser version. However, have there been any large-scale per user tests?
Basically, I'd like to know approximately what percent of web users' browsers support es6.
If a number of sites included a snippet like [0]:
(function () {
var supports;
try {
new Function('(x=7)=>x');
supports = true;
} catch (err) {
supports = false;
}
var req = new XMLHttpRequest();
req.open('GET', '/es6support/?supports=' + supports);
req.send();
})();
and then publicized the results (true count/false count), we could have an approximate percentage.
