While the analogy to musical recording publishers does not fully compare to the scientific publishing in question here, I'd like to point out the similarity to start-up funding, venture capitalism et al: It's quite funny how some will argue against music lables on a site like this. At least the vetting and fostering part should apply to scientific publishing, too.
