The old stuff is worth much more than new, quality has dropped a lot since the 1940s as research becomes more and more industrialized.
- jacquesm 9y agoUnless of course you are at the edge of some field. Then the new stuff is a must.
- nonbel 9y agoNo, I mean the vast majority of what is getting published these days does not contain useful information (very often it is worse than that, and is misleading). Reading papers from back then, almost every paper was worthwhile in some way. I think it also has to do with the ease of publishing.
