You can't go do missions outside of your controlled space, build standing with those other factions, etc. I always enjoyed Eve and thought it was decent eye candy and of course the meta gaming and stories the players created are vastly more entertaining than the game itself. Still maybe it's just me being a completionist but I'd love to visit every part of the game. Fark it. Maybe I'll just resub and fly throw away stealth bombers until I do. But I sure as hell won't be able to mission with every faction.
