As far as I know, there is no way to sync contacts/calendar over-the-wire (USB) using Android. That's a major ding if one is trying to avoid all things cloud.

As far as I know, there is no way to sync contacts/calendar over-the-wire (USB) using Android. That's a major ding if one is trying to avoid all things cloud.
(edit: i should add i'm referring to macos)
- cvwright 9y agoIf the goal is just to avoid using Google, you don't necessarily need to sync contacts and calendars over USB. You can use CalDav and CardDav with a non-Google online service like Fastmail.
