There is an opposite use case which will make me consider getting an iPhone X for a long time.
Every so often, I leave my phone at home and I need my wife to get some info from it. Or my phone runs out of batteries and my wife's phone is there, and I use to to make a phone call.
With Face ID, these possibilities go away.
- Angostura 9y agoI presume you can enroll multiple faces, no?
- uptown 9y agoFaceID currently only supports one face. Source: https://twitter.com/reneritchie/status/907724254652784640 https://twitter.com/reneritchie/status/907724254652784640
- 2close4comfort 9y agoBut waht if my face is not supported?
- raesene6 9y agoIf it's implemented in the same way as TouchID, you can always fall back to PIN.
- koliber 9y agoOh. Thank you for pointing this out. It was not clear to me that this is the case. From a quick look at their initial marketing material, it seemed like the way to unlock it was to wave it in front of your face.
- elkabong 9y agoYour wife could also know your passcode and vice versa, if this is such a necessity
- have_faith 9y agoWith TouchID you could register multiple fingers, don't see why you couldn't register multiple faces.
- peteretep 9y agoI'd read somewhere that specifically it's just one face
- nikbackm 9y agoMakes sense, most people only have one face.
- booleandilemma 9y agoI've met some two-faced people before.
- adolfoabegg 9y agoIf the face isn't recognized then you get "Enter your PIN" screen, right? Sorry, didn't read the article so this comment might be out of context.
