You can choose to select a definition of 'consciousness' that does not depend on experience, yet our experience is still wanting for an explanation.
- visarga 9y agoYou're making a distinction between "experience" on the one hand, and perception (as in eyes + vision areas + visual representations), that are present in RL agents as well. Another component of inner experience is emotion - which would be analogous to the value function in RL and implemented in the same way, by neural nets.
