In the past few months, I see some popular linux softwares started to using AppImage (https://appimage.org/ https://appimage.org/) to distribute prebuilt binary. Not sure if it is a good option for SublimeText.
- Sir_Cmpwn 9y agoI'm not a big fan of AppImage. It takes everything good about static linking and then fucks it all up.
- catwell 9y agoThat's what electro-build does by default. It's a terrible solution for end users, because it results in huge bloated statically-linked images, but at least it works everywhere. I do prefer what Sublime Text is doing here though. Kudos to them, it's a lot of work.
