Demonstrate it is not true.
Religion in the very general is about who or what you serve as the core of your life. Who or what you bow down to and worship and what drives you forward. Whether this be wealth, power, influence, movie/music/sports stars, knowledge, politics, any of the many religious and philosophical belief systems (including science, including secularism).
- tonyedgecombe 9y agoThe definition of religion in the OED is "The belief in and worship of a superhuman controlling power, especially a personal God or gods." That pretty much excludes all your examples.
- uoaei 9y agoThis perception of religion is precisely what TFA is trying to dispel.
- cholantesh 9y agoThe first people to preach secularism were practicing Christians.
