Try the Substance suite if you want an actually good texturing program. Very affordable licensing, too, with an optional license-to-own pricing model.

- fsloth 9y agoComing from 'old school' texturing pipeline with hand assembled specular, normal etc. maps to get something akin to realism by just painting with the selected material and having the program automatically fill in the various channels feels amazing. I was not really pushing the program but the workflow enabled by it. If substance works as well that's cool to know.
- fsloth 9y agoThanks for the tip! I downloaded the trial and it seems really nice.
- kakarot 9y agoSure thing! After you spend a few days with it, I'd love to hear how you compare it to 3DCoat. I've considered picking up 3dCoat not for its texturing but its voxel workflow.
