Me too. My personal site is in Middleman hosted on a digital ocean instance so I can have more control of that side (also wanted to learn more about nginx and SSL) but lately I've been using Middleman with Netlify - it's unbeatable for getting projects up and running fast. Built-in continuous integration and automatic SSL, you can even get your domain through them. Their CMS makes creating a fully featured blog ridiculously easy. 10/10 would Netlify again.
