If by those new Nokias that aren't smartphones you mean the new 3310s (because Nokia also makes Android phones now,) you should be weary - the camera isn't exactly ok, not by modern standards, and most importantly, they only work on GSM (2G) networks that are being phased out in a lot of places.
- madeofpalk 9y ago> they only work on GSM (2G) networks Haha you're kidding me? They shut down the 2G networks in Australia this year!
- zokier 9y agoI can only assume that it was to save on licensing costs, especially now as Nokia has been broken into pieces. Nokia already had ultra low-cost 3G platform five years ago (e.g. Nokia 208/301/515), so the tech definitely exists.
- ghostbrainalpha 9y agoActually, early reports look like they will be updated to (3G) when the phone comes to the U.S. market. https://www.cnet.com/news/nokia-3310-3g-us-launch-fcc-filing/ https://www.cnet.com/news/nokia-3310-3g-us-launch-fcc-filing...
