This article is horribly biased against lenders. We all can agree that lenders did loosen their criterion -- but why? They did so because legislator and judges were criticizing them for refusing sub-prime loans. The government said, hey, you're not giving enough loans to minorities who dominate the sub-prime population. So, the lenders complied.
