Can Kevin Costner's Machines Really Help the Gulf Cleanup?

- hga 16y agoEpic journalism fail: the EPA not unreasonably requires waivers to discharge oil into the sea; unreasonably (that's one reason the general paradigm and specific theme of this article is taking the oil and water mixture back to port), they are only granting them under severe duress (like the type of publicity Costner is generating) for the various types of separators that have been available to clean up the Gulf from day 1 of the leak. Like all the ones offered from foreign countries like the Netherlands that we flatly turned down (due to the Jones Act as well; this was partly remediated by installing machines on US flagged and crewed ships/boats/barges/whatever).
