Not to retread on what you laid out but, why is java the one true choice for all of this projects code? If this project is just not that massive I’d say that it shouldn’t make much difference. But you’ve kinda specified a larger problem which is vendor lock in. I’d spend a little time thinking about what locks you in to that ecosystem. At least to have it on your radar, but that might inform design a bit if you’re really worried.
