Mozilla has been putting 110% of their effort on a Desktop browser recently. Fine, their choice, but I can't help but think that their are cornering themselves in a niche and are missing where the new tech users will be.
As you can guess, I really feel it's a shame that gecko is becoming really good, just not used in a context that matters.

And on top of that, ifs from a regular engineer which means I know even less about all the factors in play than I should to predict. > Mozilla has been putting 110% of their effort on a Desktop browser recently. Fine, their choice, but I can't help but think that their are cornering themselves in a niche and are missing where the new tech users will be. My personal take is that we have to start somewhere. We can try to come up with a completely new technology, and we're trying to - see Servo. We can make Gecko the best web engine on the planet. Or we can try to build amazing products on top of an ok engine. I believe we have to start somewhere, and stating by bringing Gecko to excellence is not a bad choice. > As you can guess, I really feel it's a shame that gecko is becoming really good, just not used in a context that matters. yeah. I know :)
