That's an oddly rare venture as a software developer... most devs spent careers shoving data into and out of a database, and the grand challenge at most software shops is social.. it's designing software that user's interact with nicely. If you feel like you're losing your technical edge, look for a company that's doing something that's technically hard. Makes all the difference.
