There is a trivial solution to this problem. If you don't like ads, just start paying for the content. Don't support publishers that use advertisement as their business model. Alternatives exist.
- azag0 9y agoYes, but then the whole ecosystem is missing micropayments. I subscribe to some sources, but sometimes I just want to read a single article. Would gladly pay 20 cents, if it was a matter of a click.
- tim333 9y agoNot that trivial in practice. How do I negotiate with the 100s of sites I visit to accept a small payment and not show ads? Now installing uBlock is trivial.
