Ask HN: Should some re-submissions go back on the Newest list?

Sometimes I'll make a submission, and it turns out the item has been submitted a long time ago, with no activity or points. So my submission turns into a point for the existing item and nobody sees it again. I think that below a certain activity threshold, items should go back on the Newest list. It could be that the page may have changed since it was first submitted, or that the content is now relevant in a different way. What do you think?
