It's kinda amazing any research gets done at all, with all the bureaucracy. My university requires official approval and a full process even to apply for a small non-institutional grant. I was going to apply for that tiny little AI Grant that was posted on here a while back, then I concluded that the rules probably would require me to get approval to apply for that. So I said "fuck it."
