I think you can argue that the golden age died with breaking bad and mad men ending. But we are still in a silver age. There has never been more good TV. But we lack truly great consensus shows. Probably because the talent pool is diluted. There are probably 10X as many serious cable/streaming dramas now than there were 10 years ago.
