I think these are the key takeaways. STEM is very important, but it appears the market is saying we have a lack of leadership skills, which are not really emphasized in a typical education.

Leadership skills are harder to prove. There are some terrible leaders that somehow get into leadership positions

  IMHO that's because the skills to become a leader aren't the same as the skills to be a good leader. See politicians for the premiere example...
