Or maybe the AT&T network does not suck that much and the Iphone has always been the device terrible at making and keeping calls. AT&T has just gotten the bad rep from the apple fanboys all along.
- ericd 16y agoFor what it's worth, Cingular (which became AT&T Wireless) was awful in most of the areas I used it, even when I had a phone that was just a phone. I then got a normal phone on Verizon, and it was a night and day difference. I can count the number of dropped calls with that phone on one hand. That's not to say that the iPhone's antenna has ever been exemplary or even one of the top priorities for Apple, but it's not at all a stretch to think it's mostly AT&T's fault. Don't blame fanboys for what can be explained by AT&T just sucking.
- derefr 16y agoNope. I (a customer of Rogers Canada) have never experienced a single dropped call, or any static, or even anything less than three bars of service, in my last two years of iPhone ownership. I never hear any stories from anyone around here about such things, either; only read them online. I do believe it's your shitty cell infrastructure. :)
- heresy 16y agoI've had dropped calls on my iPhones (3G & 3GS). Inside an elevator or while walking through a tunnel surrounded by 2 metres of concrete in an underground carpark...Never at any other time. This is from using it in 3 different countries (none of which was the US). I think I concur with your conclusion.
- ThomPete 16y agoWhen I was in Thailand beginning of this year we went to Koh Samui. My girlfriend who have a Sony Ericsson had no problem getting coverage but I couldn't get it with my iPhone. In general the iPhone doesn't have the best coverage in the world. I live in Denmark, we have close to 100% coverage everywhere, but even here the iPhone goes out once in a while. I still love it though and it beats my experience with Android by many many lengths.
