Would it possible to aim to have these satellites shade only one or both of the poles? That could solve the problem of reduced sunlight for plants. (Among other issues.)
- tempestn 9y agoISTM it would be difficult since the sun isn't a point source. Fortunately, as other comments have mentioned, sunlight is not the limiting factor for plant growth in most situations.
