Uber's mobile app was hilarious - I got banned just for trying to sign up as a new user. There's a screen where they ask you to click a button to validate your mobile phone number, I guess they send a code or something, but the UI folks there decided not to have the button give any kind of visual feedback when you click on it. So, I must have had a spotty data connection, and since the button wasn't doing anything I just sat there idly tapping on it waiting for something to happen... suddenly I get a notification that I've been banned for making "too many requests", lol. I downloaded Lyft, sailed through the registration, and was on my way to where I needed to be about 8 minutes later. I guess it's a good example of how poor UI design can cost you customers because I never bothered going back to try Uber again.
