It's Animal Farm out there right now. Purges are in full swing.
One of the transgressions that caused this split was the retweeting of an article that suggested codes of conduct can be ableist, because they don't account for the eccentricities of people on the Autism spectrum. It's now controversial to suggest that we have compassion for people with mental disabilities instead of throwing them to the wolves.
- cabalamat 9y agoI guess SJWs can't stand it when it is pointed out that their ableist behaviour is at odds with their professed beliefs. Do they pause, reflect on their behaviour, and mend their ways? No, they throw their toys out of the pram. In a way this is a good thing. Now that there's an SJW fork of node.js, this will be a concrete test of whether SJW-inspired CoCs help or hinder development on open source projects. If Ayo does better than Node, it's evidence in the SXJs' favour. Likewise the opposite.
