I agree that we need "the government to pursue these crimes..." If the government did that, the need for consumers to continue to sue will mostly go away. Once we have real government protection of consumers the need for consumers to take justice into their own hands (so to speak) by suing would go away all by itself. In the meantime, let consumers protect themselves.
