a and b are the restrictions diaspora faces.
Facebook is c - not good for well-known reasons.
d is an organisation responsibly handling your data.
no contradiction.
the organization though could in fact be based on Diaspora and maintain pods.

They have a https://degooglisons-internet.org/ https://degooglisons-internet.org/ project (degooglify the internet) and are providing alternatives to every big corporate services out there. https://framasphere.org https://framasphere.org is their installation of diaspora* built against facebook. And they are non-profit. (You can switch the language to english if you do not speak french)
