- quadrangle 9y agoAssuming good faith is slightly different than not assuming bad faith, but it's related. Self-interest and good faith are compatible in many cases. Assuming good faith is a principle worth following as a guideline, and when you recognize that it is in conflict with someone's self-interest then you can be reasonable to at least recognize the likelihood that self-interest wins out.
