Southwest will let you pre-board if you are 6'3"+. I did that for several years until they banned pre-boards from sitting in the exit rows. It's only usefull now for getting the bulkhead seats.

  I have not done it recently, but yes. It is considered a handicap. A flight attendant told me about it, and lo and behold, it worked every time. No fuss. As I said though, mostly useless now due to non-exit rows.
