Doesn't the author of the article realize that it's possible to tune the database parameters? MySQL and Postgres are configured for durability by default.
Single node MySQL or Postgres instances can perform very well with the right data:memory ratio at the cost of durability guarantees. The problem with horizontal, not vertical scalability.
- swannodette 16y agoThe whole point of the article was that with CouchDB you get concurrency without paying for durability loss. You're just arguing for my point here.
