I guess the modern equivalent is supermarkets letting people take their unsold or out of date food?
- trapperkeeper74 9y agoYea. Or coffee shops / bakeries giving old perishables to the poor. There's an average of 40% food waste in the US. Also, there's freegans whom dive into supermarket refuse for barely expired product.
