If it needs 200 lines and they have to write it on paper, of course it doesn't compile.
- tonyedgecombe 9y agoAutomata is a 60 minute test taken in a compiler integrated environment. So not written on paper.
- rurban 9y agoBut it doesn't explain if the test user was able to use a compiler to check his syntax or man pages to check for lib calls. My guess is that it was a better whiteboard test, which usually fails to compile on the first writeup.
