I don't have much to add to this discussion, except that this is why I never respond to workplace surveys unless I'm required to, and even then, I say what I think upper management wants to hear.
If I'm unhappy or unsatisfied with something that I'm not in an immediate position to change, I'll get a job elsewhere. I want to control if and when that happens, which means no whining or complaining, even if I'm asked to. It's not worth the risk.
