Meanwhile for Qantas in Australia on domestic flights, you just tap your frequent flyer card to check-in and scan it's barcode at the gate to board. It does print a small slip with your seat allocation on it at that point though. Now someone just has to build e-Ink into the card.. which I know has at least partly been done by some of those virtual credit card startups.
