Who is searching for system package manager installed binaries in the filesystem by absolute path?
On Arch pacman -Ql <package> shows me the equivalent of a /Program/<package>/ directory.
Installed packages are organized for the benefit of the runtime environment since the user should never have to interact with the data hierarchy, much like how Android has a Data/<program name>/<random stufF> share dir with the packages cached elsewhere.
The only real problem I have with the current standard FHS is how terribly named everything is. There are mechanical reasons why having all your libraries in /lib or all your binaries in /bin is necessary to the environment and linker.
