- wongarsu 9y agoI don't think we should encourage mail-in voting. It opens the door to all kinds of voting fraud. A major point of the polling booth is that nobody can see what you put on you ballot, and you can lie to anyone about it. No family member can pressure you to vote in a certain way, and if somebody offers you money in exchange for your vote you take their money and vote for somebody else. And if your employer threatens to fire anyone who votes for the wrong person, you just tell them you voted for their favorite candidate, they can't tell the difference. Mail-in voting is nice for people who physically can't visit a voting booth, either due to disability, sickness, or scheduling problems. But it should never become the norm.
