For me, I'm replacing any of the ol' Flash style of thinking with Lua. Specifically, MOAI: http://getmoai.com/ http://getmoai.com/ MOAI gives me everything that Flash gave me, but I have better (full) control over the stack, what goes into it, how its used, etc. And then I just compile it all to Javascript and voila! No distribution hassles (except where I want it: i.e. when delivering to iOS/Android app-stores..)
