Updating the Windows Console Colors
- cable2600 9y agoI remember doing it with DOS and ansi.sys and then enter escape codes with prompt etc.
- JdeBP 9y agoYou wouldn't have done what is being done here with ANSI.SYS. This isn't picking one of 16 colours. This is altering what those 16 colours display as: the 24-bit colours that the 16-colour palette maps to. It's all about what colour "blue" is, again. - JdeBP 9y agoIt's sad to see how many news outlets misreported this as CMD.EXE (The Register) or the "Command Prompt" (several others). It is of course the colour scheme of console windows (managed by CONHOST) that is being updated. And only newly minted ones, at that. * http://jdebp.eu./FGA/a-command-interpreter-is-not-a-console.html http://jdebp.eu./FGA/a-command-interpreter-is-not-a-console.... I wonder whether there's some sort of fad about console window colour schemes that is currently sweeping Microsoft. * https://www.hanselman.com/blog/GetSolarizedAwesomeCommandPromptColorsForVSVSCodeCmdPowerShellAndMore.aspx https://www.hanselman.com/blog/GetSolarizedAwesomeCommandPro...
