Yeah, "profiting" is a typical stupid liberal accusation to invalidate people, because liberals have this shitty idea that "making money == bad". I have no problem with Maajid fundraising and paying himself a salary. You need to be careful with the "X profits from fundraising, therefore they're just trying to profit from Y sentiment." That argument could be applied to Planned Parenthood, Churches, and just really anything. Just because an organization is well-funded doesn't mean they're morally bankrupt.

  I think he was perfectly civil, calling a popular idea "stupid" but without attacking GP personally. The SPLC has other prize opinios, like how Pepe the Frog is a hate symbol and should be banned, and that Kekistan (a fictional national identity for "followers of kek", an ethostate comprised solely of "oppressed Kekistanis") is an alt-right stronghold, filled to the brim with white supremacist Nazi's. (I would describe it as a parody of identitarianism and social justice causes, "Reparations for Kekistan!", with some trolling aimed at SJW's and Nazi's alike by using a Nazi-eqsue green flag while wielding the language of Palestine supporters.) Sargon of Akkad made some videos about them, I think they're rather good though I don't really enjoy his rather smug presentation. There's also a 3 year old expose by John Birch, they seem to have a long history of brandishing political opponents and those who discuss them as "criminally hateful".
