I don't know the exact numbers involved, but if, for the sake of argument, the maid has 30 clients and a maid service costs $100 per month, the maid would make $3000 a month before taxes etc. Surely there's at least a possibility that the rest of his or her expenses are low enough that they can afford a $100 maid service of their own. Especially if they are living with someone and can divide the living expenses.
