Announcing Twist, a fundamentally different way of working together
- natch 9y agoNice to see someone trying to make organizational knowledge more accessible. From the short video it is hard to gauge how well this tool would work over time as more and more threads piled up. As far as I can tell this still suffers from one of the major problems of email and group chats, which is that people can be left out of threads or message conversations they should be included in. It also gives people a rich palette of tools for playing office politics. And on top of that it adds at least two more tasks to the workflow, 1) creating topics, and 2) grouping topics into larger categories. But maybe these pay dividends. The inclusion issue seems really important. If Joe never knows about a thread where he could make a great contribution, and the members of that thread never know that Joe could make a great contribution, then Joe's contribution never happens. Or from another angle, if Joe doesn't know what he doesn't know (and therefore doesn't know to ask for it) then his being left out of a crucial thread can lead him to act on faulty information, reducing his effectiveness. Of course these are just problems of life and business, not just problems of this particular tool. But it would be nice to hear what their solution would look like, since they are claiming to be such an improvement.
