I've heard from someone who I think would know, that the editorial influence of owners on their newspapers' journalism has waned. Is it a matter of principle, or are you concerned with any tangible editorial slant?

Nope, I personally subscribe (pay) for "perspective" journalism. It just would be nice to have a more neutral source sometimes.
