Very few people earn salaries over 20,000CNY/month (USD$3k), most white collar professionals are in the 6-10,000CNY/month range (~USD$1-1.5k+). How do people who earn that afford million dollar apartments? They don't. They bought them years earlier, when they were way cheaper.
