Kraken seems to be to be the only major exchange that is taking this approach.
It looks like all other exchanges will be free to pocket the BCC they derive from the fork... Am I right on this?
- lawn 9y agoNo, several exchanges takes the same stance: https://www.bestbitcoinexchange.io/segwit-bitcoincash-hardfork/ https://www.bestbitcoinexchange.io/segwit-bitcoincash-hardfo...
- cbr 9y agoQ: Will Coinbase keep UAHF coins for itself? A: No. Coinbase does not intend to support or interact with the UAHF chain. If this were to change, Coinbase would make those coins available for customers to withdraw, not keep them. https://support.coinbase.com/customer/portal/articles/2844217-uahf-uasf-faq https://support.coinbase.com/customer/portal/articles/284421...
- uncletammy 9y agoI'm not sure how believable this is. If the BCC chain survives, exchanges "not interacting" with the BCC chain will have great implications on the scarcity of the BCC token. It's way more likely that they will change their policy after angry holders aren't allowed their coins. The more expensive BCC gets, the stronger the incentive for those exchanges to cave or cheat. Regardless, most exchange's hot wallet addresses are known. The second exchanges cheat, everyone will know. This is either a political signal that they are still on team Segwit or it's a very risky bet that BCC will die, made for the purpose of saving a few bucks in administrative costs.

- Frogolocalypse 9y agoThe only possibility outside of ignoring it is to sell the BCH coins and pocket the money. They have told their customers what they need to do if they want to access the BCH chain. If they choose not to, they are owed nothing.
