To add to that...Tesla is worth more than General Motors. The market cap for Tesla is $57 billion. General Motors is $52 billion. General Motors produced 10 million cars in 2015 (per Wikipedia). Tesla produced 47,000 so far in 2017. I understand the stock market is 'forward looking'...but huge difference there.
