I work for a major university hospital in IT, and when IPv6 was enabled as a default additional component to IPv4, it caused all kinds of hell.
The issues were generally around the OS prioritizing IPv6 over IPv4 which a lot of applications aren't ready for.
I know IPv6 is more secure, better, conditions your hair for you, but I am not excited to move IPv6 forward with our network.

- wmf 9y agoAlmost all popular apps started requesting IPv6 before IPv6 was broadly deployed, so they weren't actually using it. Then when IPv6 was deployed, it was less reliable because stuff was untested and suddenly there was intermittent breakage everywhere. So apps had to be updated to use happy eyeballs.
