They took some code that they didn't wanted to write themselves.
syscalls means nothing, it's "easy" to replace syscalls when you control the userland.
- awordnot 9y agoAs roblabla said, multiple people are in the process of reverse engineering the Switch and they have all confirmed that the OS itself is NOT FreeBSD based. The network stack may be, but the kernel itself is an iteration on the 3DS' kernel.
